Cookie policy
Last updatedWhat we use, and what we do not
This site uses no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking. It uses two things: our own storage in your browser to remember what you choose, and Google Analytics to know which pages get read.
Google Analytics does not load until you accept it. If you do not accept, that request is never made: it is not that it loads and does not measure, it is that it does not load.
What we keep in your browser
These three entries are ours, live in your browser's local storage, and never travel to any server:
| Name | What for | Expiry |
|---|---|---|
| ts_cookie_consent | Remembering whether you accepted analytics, with the date of your decision | Until you clear it, or the purposes change |
| ts-theme | Remembering whether you prefer the light or the dark theme | Until you clear it |
| NEXT_LOCALE | Remembering the language you chose | 1 year |
Google Analytics cookies
These are installed only if you accept analytics. They are managed by Google Ireland Ltd.:
| Name | What for | Expiry |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Telling visitors apart | 2 years |
| _ga_<ID> | Keeping the measurement session state | 2 years |
How to change your decision
The «Cookie preferences» link in the footer reopens the notice at any time, and there you can change what you chose. Withdrawing consent costs exactly what giving it cost.
You can also clear or block cookies from your browser settings. If you clear our consent entry, we will ask you again the next time you visit.
